RADIAL CLUB HAND

Radial Club hand results due to partial or complete absence of the outer forearm bone. This leads to the hand unsupported on the outer side & deviated outwards.
Radial club hands requires corrective plaster application in initial period of life. Centrallization of the forearm bone is usually performed around the age of 1 year. Patients who have non-functioning thumb, would require Policization (Shifting index finger to thumb) to improve grip function. Lengthening of forearm bone is performed at later age.
